Katie Hammen is a Chicago based comedian/performer originally from Grinnell, IA. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a focus in creative writing from the University of Iowa where she also studied Theatre Arts. In addition, Katie received her Masters in Education degree in Special Education from Arizona State University. She has been actively involved in theatre, improv, and music throughout her entire life. Since moving to Chicago, Katie can be seen performing on stages throughout the city including Second City, Annoyance, MCL, Playground, and Stage 773. As a graduate of The Second City Music Improv Program and current student in the Conservatory Program, Katie has also performed at Chicago Women’s Funny Festival and Chicago Sketch Festival. Notable projects include Blackfish the Musical (Kelly) and Curse of the Goat (Sarah/Steve Bartman).
