Brett Davis

Brett Davis is a comedian, actor and filmmaker. He performs live under the guises of his many characters. He co-hosts two shows in Brooklyn, the monthly extravaganza erroneously titled The Macaulay Culkin Show at Shea Stadium in Brooklyn (read about it here), and weekly show The Tuesday Special without Brett Davis at Over The Eight. He was a featured act at the 2014 Andy Kaufman Comedy Festival.

Brett was behind the infamous #SmithGate incident on The Chris Gethard Show, and produced the one-hour spin-off special, Truth or Myth with Smith. He has also appeared on Adult Swim, MTV’s Weird Vibes, New York Noise, The Best Show on WFMU, and numerous web shorts.

He created and starred in BANANAZZZ, a story about a pseudo-punk’s terrible quest for legitimacy, and made music videos for bands such as Screaming Females and Black Wine alongside director Kate Sweeney.

He studied at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and Peoples Improv Theater in New York and his work has been featured in New York Magazine, Pitchfork, Vice, CollegeHumor, SPIN, Stereogum, Noisey, Alternative Press, and BrooklynVegan.

He has also written many, many fake OKCupids.
