Laura Hall and Lisa McQueen will lead a three hour workshop on musical direction for improv. This workshop is for you, if you are:
1.) already working as a musical director
2.) a musician who is thinking about playing with an improv group
3.) a member or director of an improv group who wants to know how to communicate with a musical director
Laura and Lisa will explain and demonstrate how they approach gear, musical styles, working with different singers, short and long form, and playing with other musicians. They’ll have a few singers on hand to help demonstrate some of the principles. And there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
Laura and Lisa both have years of experience as Musical Directors at both The Second City and Annoyance Theatre.
Lisa has composed many musicals at Annoyance Theatre including Tippi: Portrait of a Virgin, President Bush is a Great Man, The Invention Show, Kink, Swear Jar & 40 Whacks.
