AP1: Intro to Improv: Thursday
AP1 is an all-encompassing survey course that will give anyone a solid foundation in improvisational comedy – whether you want to perform, direct, write, or just know more. New to improv? This class is probably for you. The class culminates into a one night only class show. AP1 introduces you to The Annoyance’s approach to improv by covering a wide variety of concepts:
- “the rules” and breaking the rules
- Group mind (the myth, the facts)
- How to say “no”
- Creating the game
- Character driven scene work
- Initiations
- Long-form
- Short-form
- Writing via improv
- Direction (taking and giving)
- Object and environment work
